Case Study – Optimizing solar plants to make a difference

A leading EPC/developer specialized in renewable projects (engineering, procurement, and construction) sought a tracker solution to maximize efficiency and reduce total cost across two utility-scale sites: ~250 MWp (Project 1) and ~50 MWp (Project 2).

Project context & optimization
The client initially requested AxoneDuo Infinity (1P) in a 2+2 configuration based on site specs. After PVH’s detailed engineering review, we proposed an optimized 3+3 configuration to better match project volumes and operational needs.

What changed—and why it matters

  • Higher efficiency at scale: configuration tailored to site layout and BoS constraints.
  • Fewer components per MW: streamlined drives, controllers, and foundations to simplify installation.
  • Faster build & safer logistics: longer strings per row and standardized assemblies.
  • Lower lifetime cost: design choices oriented to LCOE and O&M simplicity.
