PVH converts its Spanish factory into a Cardiac Protected Area with 7 defibrillators
28/02/2024
PVH has installed a total of 7 defibrillators at its facilities in Cheste (Valencia), making them a Cardiac Protected Electrical Area (CPA). The company, which has about 500 workers between the factory, office spaces and interim staff, takes a step forward in the safety and welfare of all staff. This measure, crucial for responding to medical emergencies, responds to the need to provide a safer working environment.
Defibrillators are critical devices in cases of sudden cardiac arrest. “Every minute counts in a cardiac emergency,” states Juan José Pérez, EHS Manager at PVH. “Having a defibrillator available can make the difference between life and death.”
Accessibility to these vital devices reduces response time and improves chances of survival. In addition to providing peace of mind to employees and responsible staff members, customers and families also benefit from this important adaptation.
In addition, as part of this initiative, staff and managers who are part of the staff’s emergency teams received training on the use of defibrillators in January. This course ensures that the team is prepared to act quickly in the event of a cardiac emergency, thereby maximizing the effectiveness of the defibrillators and ensuring a safer working environment.
The initiative demonstrates PVH’s commitment to safety and wellness, going one step beyond regulatory compliance and promoting a healthy work environment for all.
