PVH’s Proven Approach to Efficient Solar Tracker Installation
12/11/2024
At PVH, our commitment to excellence shines through in every step of our solar tracker installation process. Our Commissioning Department is dedicated to ensuring that each installation is executed with precision and utmost safety, setting the stage for optimal performance across all solar projects. Here’s a detailed look at our well-established commissioning process:
-
Communication Architecture Configuration and Initial Training
Our journey begins with the setup of the communication infrastructure during the initial stages of solar tracker assembly. The client starts by installing towers equipped with Tbox, Mbox, and Gateways, along with a foundational set of trackers known as the “Golden Block.” This Golden Block acts as a reference point for the rest of the installation.
Once this setup is complete, a PVH technician visits the site to configure all devices and provide comprehensive training on the provisioning process. This involves uploading movement parameters into the Dboxes, a step previously known as “cold commissioning” to ensure that all system communications are fully operational.
-
Provisioning
In this phase, the client takes on the task of loading movement parameters into the trackers. This step offers a significant advantage: once the parameters are set, the client can manually adjust the trackers for tasks such as module installation or cable routing without needing validated devices or external batteries.
-
Operational Testing
Following provisioning, our team performs a thorough evaluation to ensure the system’s functionality. This includes:
- Communication Tests: Confirming that all devices are communicating effectively.
- Movement Tests: Sending movement commands from the Tbox to ensure the trackers respond and operate as intended.
- Backtracking Adjustment: Fine-tuning settings to eliminate any shadows that could impact production during sunrise and sunset.
-
O&M Training
Before concluding our on-site work, PVH provides extensive training for the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team. This training is designed to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed for effective operation and maintenance of the solar trackers over the long term.
German Moreno, PVH’s Commissioning & PEM Global Manager, highlights our dedication: “At PVH, we uphold the highest standards of excellence at every stage of the process, from initial setup to final testing. Our goal is to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability for each installation. By refining our commissioning procedures, we not only expedite setup times but also empower our clients with the expertise and independence needed for successful plant management.”
At PVH, we are committed to delivering not just solar trackers, but a complete solution that guarantees performance, efficiency, and reliability.
