DBOX5 wins iF Design Awards 2024 and consolidates its leadership in solar innovation

02/04/2024

The DBOX5, the solar controller from PV Hardware (PVH), has won the design award at the prestigious iF Design Awards in the Product/Industry category. This state-of-the-art tracker control device wins its second award of the year, after also winning at the European Product Design Awards (ePDA).

The iF Design Awards 2024 emphasize the global impact of design and, with more than 10,000 entries from 72 countries, is one of the most prestigious and relevant design competitions in the world. To decide who wins the award, a selection of renowned design experts review all entries in a rigorous two-stage selection process, with only the highest quality products making it through.

The iF Design Awards jury based its decision on the sound principles behind the design of the DBOX5, which they describe as the ultimate innovation in solar controllers, marking a significant leap in the efficiency of photovoltaic installations. “Not only does it integrate state-of-the-art technology for superior performance and communication, but it also embodies sustainability at its core” states the institution on its website. “Following green design principles such as durability, modularity, repairability and recyclability, the DBOX5 is designed to thrive in open conditions for thousands of hours. Its reliability and longevity are critical, highlighting it as the premier product in the market.”

DBOX5 as a leader of innovation in solar tracking

The launch of the DBOX5, the latest breakthrough in solar controllers, has marked a significant milestone in innovation within the solar energy field. Integrating the most advanced technology and optimal communication of all devices in the plant, it provides superior system performance. Its design optimizes usability, facilitates installation, improves sustainability and extends product durability. It is a resounding success on all levels.

In the specific aspect of design, PVH highlights the collaboration with Lúcid. This alliance has brought very positive effects that are reflected in the final result.

Arturo Menor de Eusebio, Head of Product design at PVH, commented: “We have worked for many years on the development of the DBOX5 as a single, comprehensive and coherent element. Design plays a fundamental role in the engineering of this device, and that is why we decided to collaborate with Lúcid. This development has involved many months of effort and involvement from the entire team. This award is only part of the reflection of that effort.”

This recognition not only highlights the excellence of the product, but also underlines its relevance in the market.
